Today after some very convincing butt rubs I got lucky to come on what I had planned on being a run. Lucky had a different idea, after stopping every 2 seconds to smell something I took a note out of his book and decided to do a smell walk. A smell walk is recommended by behavioralist as a way to let dogs explore their walk with their strongest sense. The point is to let the dog lead the walk and let them smell whatever they want for as long as they want. The goal is to provide dogs with lots if stimulus and time to process it, the hopes is to tucker them out mentally. We did a pokey 2 miles but lucky had a blast!
