Friday Fun with Bennie & Georgie

Friday's weather forecast called for some afternoon showers, but we started out with some nice warm weather.  We started in Portland with a walk through Evergreen Cemetery with Bennie & Georgie.  These two were excited to see me when I arrived and we were off to a fast start to the cemetery.  We saw a few people exercising and a few others out walking their dogs.  These two were more interested in visiting with the people and getting some attention than the were meeting new dogs.  We got in a nice long stroll before any rain came, and these two were ready to go home and relax in their window seat in the sunshine for the afternoon.

Lucky Seven at Fel's Grove

To close out this busy day at Kanine Kings was a trip to Fel's Grove to take a run with seven great dogs.  Phoebe, Grace, Roxy, Zoey, Henry, Ruby & Violet were excited to get to the grove today and go for a run.  This group had a few tennis balls to play fetch with and played some keep away from one another in between tosses.  We had the grove all to ourselves for the afternoon and we managed to stay mostly dry despite the big puddles in the field.  This group was on their best behavior for the afternoon, and everyone had a great time on this sunny Thursday.  We got in a lot of exercise and everyone had a blast on this beautiful day at Kanine Kings.

Finn to Win

Thursday was also a great day for a couple of visits with Finn. The weather was beautiful and Finn was distracted by lounging in the grass in the sunshine. He was happy to be outside and get some playtime with his big brother Riley and chase some leaves across the yard. We headed inside to have some lunch and he was excited to have some food. We left him for a bit so he could enjoy his lunch and take Riley for a run. When we returned he was ready for another trip outside to take a stroll around the neighborhood. Finn was on his best behavior for the day and it was a treat to spend some time with him on this beautiful Thursday at Kanine Kings.

Three For All

Thursday called for some beautiful weather and we started in Portland at Quarry Run. Lola, Violet & Riley were ready to go when we got to the parking lot and sprinted up the path to the hill behind the park. These three were fast friends and took turns chasing each other and splashing in the mud. We ran into a couple of other dogs out enjoying the weather and these three were happy to let them join the chase. Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon and got in a lot of exercise on this sunny Thursday at Kanine Kings.

Soaking in the "Spring"

This afternoon I had a fantastic walk through the forest by Highland Lake with 4 friendly faces. Tucker, Lola, Emma and Remy were more than ready to set out into the early spring conditions of the woods. Emma, Lola and Remy played one giant game of chase and had alot of fun running through the woods and splashing in the puddles. Tucker chased some too and played with Remy but mostly stuck around to lead the group. They all couldn't resist at least a dip in the cool creek waters when we were exploring a new area together. We got back on the main trail then eventually returned to the car to dry off and get home safely.

Midweek Swim Lessons

Wednesday also included a trip to Pratt's Brook with five great dogs. Kaia, Violet, Macey, Ina & Saltine were full of energy and ready to go off into the woods and through the trails straight to the brook. Saltine was the first in the water, trying to pull a tree branch out to show off. It was far too large, but she still managed to get it out to flaunt at the other dogs. The followed her in and out of the water and had a great time playing chase and making a muddy mess. We saw a few others out enjoying the day and this group was friendly and happy to greet all comers. Everyone had a great time and got a bit wet before we headed for home. The group was in their best behavior for the day and made for a great way to close out a busy Wednesday at Kanine Kings.

Rolling with Finn

Wednesday was a great day to get over to Finns for a visit with the puppy. He was excited to get outdoors and roll around in the yard. He tried to play a bit with Riley and then ran around the yard before taking care of business. Then it was time to go inside for some lunch.  We left him to his food while Riley went on his run, and when we returned he was done with his meal. We headed back out for another quick stroll before we left him with a few treats in his crate.   Finn is getting bigger every day and we love to have a puppy like Finn to play with every week.

Cemetery Stroll with Bennie & Georgie

Next up for this busy Wednesday was a stroll to Evergreen Cemetery with Bennie & Georgie. These two were excited to get out for a stroll in the sunshine. We walked the sidewalk to the cemetery where these two had a bit of playtime. These two ran some circles around me chasing each other before we for the leashes back on for our stroll back home. These two were on their best behavior for the afternoon and got in some fun and exercise before heading home for the afternoon to relax.

Starting Strong with a Foursome at Quarry Run

The weather on forecast on Wednesday called for some warmer weather and we it off to an early start at Quarry Run. Violet, Saltine, Ina & Riley were excited to get to the park and met a couple of other dogs out enjoying the day. They took turns chasing each other in and out of the mud and through the trees. Everyone got a bit muddy, but mostly rinsed off in the water nearby. This group got along great and everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon and got in some exercise in the sun before heading home for the afternoon. It was a great way to start a busy Wednesday at Kanine Kings.

Nothing but happy tails do I see

I had a pleasant and fun-filled walk through the woods this morning with Abby, Bella, Maggie and Tucker. There was a few big puddles that we came across and plenty of tasty sticks for them to chew on. Bella and Maggie played and had fun chasing each other through the trees. Then Tucker joined in after Maggie and Bella had a quick dip in the creek to clean off. They were all well behaved and happy to be in the forest exploring the wilderness. We had a nice time by the lake before returning to the car and getting everyone home to enjoy the afternoon.

Windy Waterfront Stroll

Last but not least for this busy Tuesday was a trip to LittleJohn preserve with five great dogs. Phoebe, Henry, Ruby, Saltine & Ina took a stroll around the preserve along the waterfront. The scenery was beautiful, but the wind was much stronger than it was in town. The weather didn't bother this crew and they were happy to play chase through the woods and trails. While everyone got a bit wet, nobody went to the ocean today for a dip, which worked out well due to the cold wind. We saw a few people out walkin the trail, and this group couldn't have been more well behaved. Everyone got in a lot of running and exercise today and had a lot of fun to close out this busy Tuesday at Kanine Kings.

Having a Ball at Fel's Grove

Tuesday's next walk was a trip to Fel's Grove in Yarmouth with five great pups. Grace, Zoey, Roxy, Saltine & Ina were happy to get out of the car and do some running. They recovered a couple of tennis balls and we played fetch until Saltine decided a game of keep away would be better.  They chased each other through the grove, splashing through every puddle along the way. We had the grove all to ourselves and these five were in their best behavior for our trip. We grabbed a few towels and dried off a bit before heading home for the afternoon to relax.

Finn in the Wind

Next up for this busy Tuesday at Kanine Kings was a trip to visit Finn. He spent some time playing with Riley in the yard before we took a stroll around the neighborhood. We headed inside after the wind blew his ears back a bit and enjoyed some lunch. He was excited to finish his food and we finished our visit with another walk around the neighborhood before giving him some treats to hang out in his crate to await his owners for the afternoon.

First Four at Quarry Run

The rain has passed but Tuesday called for some heavy wind throughout the day. We started at Quarry Run with four great dogs. Saltine, Lola, Riley & Ina were excited to get out today and play in some mud.  These four chased each other all through the park, taking special care to splash in any puddles or water along the way.  There were a few other dogs visiting the park today, including a Husky puppy that the group included in their game of chase.  This group was on their best behavior for our trip, and had a blast playing in the mud. Everyone got rinsed off before we headed home for the afternoon to relax and enjoy some treats.

Slip Sliding at Fort Williams

Our trip to Fort Williams wasn't as lucky weather-wise as Quarry Run, but we still had a blast. Remy, Roxy, Zoey, Grace & Ina were ready to chase the ball as soon as we hit the parking lot.  The rain was coming down, so we had the place all to ourselves for the afternoon, and these five were in their best behavior.  Remy was the first to get the ball and played some keep away until I got him to leave me the ball. We tossed it a bit, then it was Roxy's turn to steal the ball. We threw the ball for a bit, before everyone was soaked and ready for a ride in the warm car.  They all dried off a bit, but we had a few spare towels to use, and everyone got home almost as clean as when we left. Despite the rainy weather everyone had a great time, and made the most of this wet Monday at Kanine Kings.

Gett in a Run Before the Rain

Monday's forecast called for some rain, so we got an early start and got in one walk before the rains came. Lola, Emma, Navy & Ina were ready to head to Quarry Run to get some exercise in. We headed to the highest point we could find in hopes of staying dry and we were generally successful. These four took turns chasing each other up and down the hill and found a few sticks to play keep away with as they went. We encountered a few other owners who were brave enough to risk getting rained on and these pups were happy to say hello or let the other dogs play their game.  We managed to avoid the rain and headed for home for the afternoon to unwind and stay dry.

Finn Friday Fun

Friday was also a day for a visit with Finn. He was happy to get out of his crate and headed straight for the door to the icy yard. He licked as much ice as he could on our trip around the neighborhood and jumped on his big brother Riley. We left him to enjoy some lunch before we returned for another run outside around the block. Finn is a happy puppy and he seems to like the snow, or at least he likes trying to eat it.

Friday Free For All

Friday was one big group of a half dozen great dogs in the icy woods in Falmouth.  Remy, Emma, Tucker, Macey, Kaia & Riley did a lot of running in the woods and through some ice, chasing each other along the way. This was a high energy group and they did a lot of exploring off trail and found a few sticks buried under the fresh snow and ice. We didn't see anyone on our trip, and these six were on their best behavior for the day. It was a bit icy but we made the most of our trip to the woods and everyone got in a great afternoon of exercise before we headed home to warm up.

Super Eight in the Snow

Last but not least was a trip to Fel's Grove in Yarmouth with a group of eight great dogs. We took Henry, Phoebe, Ruby, Hank, Leo, Roxy, Grace & Zoey to chase some tennis balls and play tag in the snow. This group gets along great and certainly keep one another entertained. We had the grove all to ourselves for the afternoon, and everyone was on their best behavior. They chased the ball and chased each other until they were tired enough to rest in the snow a bit. We made a few more tosses, before we loaded into a couple of cars to head for home. It may have been a bit chilly, but everyone had a blast in this snow filled Thursday at Kanine Kings.

Fun in the Snow with Finn

Thursday also included a couple of visits with Finn. He was excited when I arrived with his tail wagging wildly. We went out in the yard and today he was preoccupied with all of the fresh snow. He ate some, then slid around a bit, before he was ready to head inside for some lunch. We left him to eat some lunch while we took Riley for a trip to Scarborough. When we returned, he had licked his bowl clean and was ready to head outside. We took a stroll around the neighborhood and he tried to eat some more snow, before we headed inside to relax for the afternoon.
