Friday Free For All

To close out this busy week at Kanine Kings, Jay and I took a trip to Quarry Run with a lucky seven of great dogs.  Lola, Riley, Finn, Tucker, Mudbug, Saltine & Remy were ready to explore the park and retrieve some sticks or tennis balls.  When we arrived we basically had the place to ourselves, but that didn't last long.  Quite a few other dogs arrived with their owners and this group was happy to greet them and let them join in their games.  Finn made a few puppy pals and is slowly learning to play with the other dogs.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon and got in a lot of playtime and exercise while they made a few new friends.  The weather was great and everyone had a blast on this beautiful spring Friday at Kanine Kings.

Friday Fun at Fort Williams

The forecast called for another great spring day, and we started with a trip to Fort Williams to take a run by the oceanside.  Mudbug, Saltine, Remy & Godiva were happy to get out today and play at the park.  Mudbug immediately ran into one of his buddies, Snowy, and these two were chasing each other all over the place.  Saltine & Remy found a lacrosse ball and were ready to chase the ball, then chase one another weaving between the other dogs.  Godiva was happy to explore the park, and meet all of the new people out walking their pups.  There were quite a few other dogs out enjoying the day and this group was excited to make some new friends.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon, and we all got in tons of social time and exercise before we headed for home to relax into the weekend.

Super Six Pack to Close Out Thursday

We closed out a busy Thursday at Kanine Kings with a trip to Fel's Grove in Yarmouth.  We took a six pack of great pups out for a game of fetch with a few tennis balls.  Phoebe, Roxy, Grace, Henry, Nala & Ruby are all well acquainted and were ready to run today.  We tossed a few balls and a few dogs chased the balls while the others just chased the dogs chasing the balls.  There was an occasional rogue dog that would take the ball and run around playing keep away from their playmates.  We saw another regular to the grove, a giant Golden Retriever that these six insisted join in on their game.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon and we got in a lot of playtime in the sun on this beautiful spring Thursday at Kanine Kings.

Family Reunion with the New Kids

The beautiful weather continued for our next trip back to Quarry Run. We had two new pups to the Kanine Kings family, Bo & Calvin, to go with Saltine & Remy. Remy & Calvin are brothers and look quite similar with their curly hair and colors and these two had a blast chasing one another and wrestling.  Bo met another dog named Bo and they ran rampant around the park playing everywhere and ignoring the rest of us.  We covered the entire park, climbing up the hill and getting all the way to the water that Saltine loves to play in so much.  She rolled in some mud beforehand, so the water was a welcomed sight after she caked herself in mud.  These four made friends with all of the other dogs and people at the park and had a  blast this afternoon.  When everyone got in their fill of play time, we headed home for the afternoon to relax and take a nap in the sun.

Wednesday Boys Club

This beautiful spring Wednesday continued with a trip to Falmouth for a stroll in the woods with a quartet of four boy dogs. Remy, Tucker, Riley & Finn were excited to get out in the woods today to play in the snow. The splashed around a bit in some nearby ponds, but mostly chased each other through the woods and then rolled on the snow to cool off. These four all got along splendidly and everyone got in tons of play time and burned off a lot of energy. We had our trails in the woods all to ourselves today, and everyone was on their best behavior until it was time to head for home to dry off a bit and take a nap in the sun. It was a great way to close out another great day at Kanine Kings.

Introducing Mudbug to the Crew

The weather today called for a perfect spring day following yesterday's snow storm and it was a perfect day to introduce Mudbug to the group, Emma, Lola, Saltine & Ginger.  These five were fast friends and had a high energy romp across the field to the nearby pond.  They retrieved a few oversized sticks and played some tug of war in and out of the water, then chased the dog that ultimately got the stick.  We had the preserve in Scarborough all to ourselves today, and this group was all on their best behavior for our trip. These girls all made Mudbug a welcome addition to the Kanine Kings group today and made for an excellent spring Wednesday for this great group.

Five in the Field at Fel's

For my afternoon group walk today I picked up Saltine, Kaia, Macey, Roxy and Grace for a play date at Fel's Grove. We had a fun trip and met a couple of new friends while we were out there. Saltine, Kaia and Macey had a good time exploring a little and playing together. While Roxy and Grace each had there own ball to chase after and fetch today. Saltine snatched a ball or 2 to tease the other dogs, then Roxy would join in to play with her for a little bit. A couple puddles was all that remained from the late snowstorm yesterday and of course Saltine sniffed them out to run through and plop herself in. It was a nice and sunny trip for us today but before long it was time to load up and return everyone home safe and sound.

Flurry of Fun in the Snow

The fun continued in the snow on this chilly Tuesday at Kanine Kings with a trip to Fel's Grove in Yarmouth.  The two of us brought a group of eight great dogs out for a run in the snow.  Grace, Roxy, Phoebe, Henry, Ruby, Nala, Tucker & Saltine were excited to get out in the snow and play today.  They went crazy into the snow and didn't even realize that we had some tennis balls to toss.  They made a deep run into the grove and couldn't have been more excited to see the tennis balls come flying.  The ballgame was short lived when the balls were quickly lost in the snow.  Nobody seemed to mind too much, because this group kept one another pretty well entertained, running and playing chase, rolling in the snow as they went.  The snow fell for our entire trip, but everyone had a great afternoon.  We all got in a lot of fun and exercise, before we headed home to thaw out and melt the snow in our clothes and fur and spent the afternoon relaxing.

Four Fast Friends in Falmouth

Tuesday started with a rare April snow storm, and we started with a group of four pups in the woods in Falmouth.  Casco, Lola, Riley & Finn were happy to get out and explore in the fresh snow and have some play time.  Lola chased Riley into the woods, while Casco and Finn got acquainted and rolled in some fresh snow.  These four got along great today and had a blast running after one another and playing with various sticks and toys they found in the woods.  We got a bit misdirected, but quickly found our way back to the trail.  We had the woods all to ourselves and everyone was on their best behavior, while we all got in a lot of fun and playtime.  Nobody let this unseasonable snow get in the way of a great time today at Kanine Kings.

Playing around the Preserve

I had a nice trip to the Scarborough Preserve this afternoon with Koda, Mya and Ginger. It was a lovely day with plenty of fresh air and open spaces for them to explore. Koda and Ginger enjoyed running ahead to see the pond and spying on a few of the birds in the thicket. It was just us and the birds today which made for a quiet walk on the trail around the pond. Mya did a little running of her own but mostly hung out with me and watched the other 2 run and play in the field. Ginger and Koda ran each other in circles as we passed through the field on our return trip back to the car. Everyone found a comfy spot for the ride home to relax for the rest of the day.

Monday's forecast called for another perfect spring day, and we started with a stroll in Baxter Woods. Bennie & Georgie were ready for a walk in the sun and we headed to the nearby woods. We saw a few other people and their pups out enjoying the weather and these two were a bit curious to meet some strangers and sniffed around a bit. These two were on their best behavior for the afternoon and we got in a nice long walk through Baxter Woods and back home to relax for the afternoon. It was a great way to start out another busy week at Kanine Kings.

Sunday Funday Trio

Sunday called for a special trip to the preserve on LittleJohn with a trio of great dogs. Phoebe, Grace & Roxy were ready to get out to enjoy a perfect spring afternoon.  They chased each other to the trail and into the woods. They grabbed a few sticks to wrestle over and ran up and down the trails and in and out of the woods. We got to the waterfront and Roxy decided to splash around a bit before we headed back on down the trail.  As we got back to the road, we ran into a young puppy and these three were very well behaved and happily greeted him. We headed back to the car, to towel off a bit, before heading back home for an afternoon nap.

A Pair of Princesses

This morning I started my day with a pair of friendly faces, Ginger and Lola. We set off to explore the Scarborough Preserve for some fresh air and exercise. The trail was in good condition as we made our way down to check out one of the ponds. The girls couldn't resist the open water before we got back on the trail. Lola and Ginger took the time to play and run along the back section through the woods. We came into the big field through the back corner today where Ginger flopped down to roll around in the grass. They enjoyed a good run and chased each other in circles through the field before we got back to the car to go home.

Terrific Trio at Fort Williams

Thursday called for clear skies and a perfect spring day, and the weather didn't disappoint.  It was perfect weather for a run at Fort Williams with Godiva, Finn & Riley.  They had lots of wide open spaces to run around and meet quite a few other dogs out enjoying the day.  Finn was very social, and spent time introducing himself to all of the people and puppies running around.  Riley kept an eye on him while he explored the park, meeting the other pups along the way.  Godiva hung back and scouted out the situation while she explored the woods nearby.  These three got in a lot of running and exercise, and everyone was on their best behavior for the trip while we all enjoyed this beautiful, perfect spring afternoon at Kanine Kings.

Four Explorers

To close out this busy Wednesday at Kanine Kings, we took a pack of four great dogs to Pratt's Brook in Yarmouth. Kaia, Macey, Ruby & Ina were ready to run in the woods and they really went into the woods. The four of them explored endlessly off the beaten path and found lots of mud and a few swimming holes. They took turns chasing one another through the brush and into the trees. We ran into a few others out enjoying the beautiful weather on and this group couldn't have been more well behaved. We got in some swimming and lots of running and playing in the mud, before everyone got cleaned up in time to get home for dinner.
