Playdate at the Preserve

Thursday's weather called for another perfect spring day, which was perfect for a trip to Scarborough with a trio of great dogs.  Ginger, Calvin & Lola were all fast friends, and quickly took off down the trails and across the field.  These three took turns chasing one another all the way to the nearby pond.  All three splashed around a bit then took off down the trail deeper into the woods.  We ran into another pup out enjoying the day with their owners, and these three were all very good.  We had perfect weather and this was a great, high energy group.  We got in a lot of exercise and had a blast on this beautiful spring afternoon at Kanine Kings.

Four for Fun at Quarry Run

The weather remained perfect for this Wednesday afternoon and we took a trip to Quarry Run for some exercise.  Remy, Finn, Riley & Ina were ready to meet some new pals at the park today, and there were plenty there to join them.  These four were happy to get to the park and immediately ran to the top of the hill to find the other dogs.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon, making lots of new friends and chasing all the tennis balls anyone could toss.  We got in lots of exercise in the sunshine, wandering the park, exploring all of the trails and generally having a great visit.  We got in lots of exercise on this beautiful spring afternoon at Kanine Kings, and it made for a great way to close out another busy Wednesday.

First Foursome at the Preserve

Wednesday called for a perfect spring day and the weather didn't disappoint.  We started with a trip to Scarborough with a foursome of great dogs.  Ginger, Emma, Lola & Ina were excited to get out in nature today to go for a run.  We ran across the field to the trails surrounding the nearby ponds and Lola and Ginger were ready to go for a swim.  Emma & Ina stood on the shore and barked at them as they swam around before they all returned to the trail for some more sprinting around.  We saw a few people out walking with their children, and this group made a point to say hello.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon and we all had a great time, getting in lots of exercise and fun before heading for home for the afternoon to relax.

Introducing: Champ

Last but not least for this busy Wednesday at Kanine Kings, was a trip to Fel's Grove with our newest King, Champ.  Champ is happy go lucky, and he was excited to get out and get some energy out today.  He found a tennis ball almost immediately, and I tossed it until he got bored and left it behind.  We explored some of the trails around the grove, and managed to have the whole place all to ourselves this afternoon.  Champ was very responsive and happy to follow a few commands on this beautiful afternoon.  We tossed the ball a few more times, before he left it behind and was ready to head for home.  We cleaned off his paws a bit, and headed for home with enough time for him to take a quick nap in the sunshine before his owners arrived home for the evening.  Champ is a happy pup and made for a great way to close out another busy Tuesday at Kanine Kings.

Three For All at LittleJohn Preserve

Next up for this beautiful spring afternoon at Kanine Kings was a trip to LittleJohn preserve in Yarmouth for a stroll along the waterfront and a bit of swimming.  Phoebe, Henry & Roxy are all a bit fluffy and love to bounce around.  They goofed around along the trail to the preserve, and when we arrived they went to the cliff, looking for a place to access the ocean.  We made a big loop around the preserve, and Roxy was the first into the water at the point, closely followed by Henry and Phoebe.  These three splashed around a bit, then chased each other back down the path into the woods.  We ran into a few other people out enjoying the day, and this group was happy to say hello and were all very well behaved.  We had some perfect spring weather for a swim with this trio, before we toweled the group off a bit and headed for home in time to meet their owners when they came home for the afternoon.

Fun Five to Start in Falmouth

Tuesday's forecast called for some perfect spring weather, and we started with a high energy group of smaller dogs in Falmouth.  Casco, Lola, Violet, Riley & Finn were ready to go for a run in the woods when we arrived, and took off down the trail out of sight.  These five were all fast friends, and got along great, taking turns chasing one another and splashing and swimming in any body of water they could find.  We didn't see any other people or dogs out on our walk, but plenty of other wildlife for these five to chase up the trees in the forest.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon, and got in lots of exercise before we headed back for our ride home.  We cleaned off some of the mud before loading up the car for our short ride ome to leave these pups to relax in the sunshine for the afternoon.  It was a great way to spend another great day at Kanine Kings.

Quarry Run Crew for Some Monday Fun

Monday called for clear skies with some chilly spring weather, and it was perfect conditions for a trip to Quarry Run to play.  Lola, Remy, Grace, Roxy, Ina, Violet, Koda & Mya were all excited to get out today and chased one another up the hill to see if there were any other dogs around.  They had the park to themselves when we arrived, but others quickly arrived and these pups were happy to let them join in their games.  We tossed a few tennis balls, and the group rounded up a few sticks, and these guys were ready to run.  We were lucky to have some nice weather, and the park was mostly dry after last weeks rain which made for a perfect day to get in lots of exercise and play time.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon and got in lots of fetch and tug of war among themselves and their friends before it was time to head for home.  Everyone got home in time to greet their owners and this was a great group to start out another great week at Kanine Kings.

Friday's Final Four at Quarry Run

We finished up the week with a great group of four pups on a trip to Quarry Run in Portland.  Calvin, Lola, Luke & Violet were fast friends and were off to a fast start up the hill to greet all of the other pups.  We saw Bo, and a few other dogs out enjoying the day with their owners.  These four made lots of friends as more people showed up with their dogs to enjoy the afternoon.  This group found a few tennis balls to toss, but mostly played keep away from one another and the other dogs at the park after I few it a few times.  Friday ended up being the nicest day of the week, and these four made the most of this beautiful afternoon.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon, and we got the group home in time to greet their owner's headed into the weekend.  It was a great way to close out another great week at Kanine Kings.

Friday Starting Five on LittleJohn Preserve

The weather on Friday started out a bit chilly, but it turned out to be a nearly perfect spring day.  Violet, Leo, Hank, Riley & Finn were happy to get out today and get in a run.  Hank and Leo were especially playful today and chased each other wrestling down the trail.  Finn & Violet were fast friends and played, running through the woods and joining in with the others.  Riley mostly explored his surroundings, checking back from time to time on the group.  At the end of the peninsula, a few dogs decided to check out the ocean and take a dip.  We didn't see any other pups out today on the preserve, and the group happily greeted the few people we saw out enjoying the day.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon and got in a lot of exercise, having a blast before it was time to head home to greet their owner's for the weekend.

Closing Strong on LittleJohn

Last but not least for this busy Thursday at Kanine Kings, was a trip to the preserve on LittleJohn with a half dozen great dogs.  Phoebe, Ruby, Henry, Nala, Saltine & Mudbug were a high energy group that was ready to run from the moment we parked the car.  We quickly got to the loop of trails that overlooked the water, and everyone took turns chasing one another before they were distracted a bit by the ocean.  They ran along the cliff side and tried to figure out a way to swim in the water below.  They ultimately got distracted by the ball that I tossed a few times for them, and quickly forgot the nearby water.  We had the preserve all to ourselves for the run around the loop and back to the car.  We saw a few people out walking in the rain, and this group was excited to greet them, and they were just as excited to meet the group.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon, and we managed to stay mostly dry, despite the overcast skies.  It was a great group to close out another great day at Kanine Kings.

Six Sprinters at Quarry Run

Next up for this busy day at Kanine Kings was a trip to Quarry Run to go for a run with a half dozen great dogs.  Bo, Lola, Emma, Luke, Riley & Finn were all fast friends, and ran even faster up the hill and around the trails, all over the park.  It was a bit muddy, and with all of these white dogs, they certainly managed to get their share all over themselves.  They would run through a puddle, then jump on one another, making a mess everywhere.  This group not only got along great with one another, they were happy to meet and play with any other dogs that were out today.  Everyone got in a lot of exercise, and we needed to clean off a couple pups before they were home for the afternoon.  We didn't let the overcast weather slow us down today, and everyone was on their best behavior, having a blast and making a mess on this busy Thursday at Kanine Kings.

Splashing Around at Pratt's Brook

The weather on Thursday called for more rain and some overcast weather, but that wasn't going to pose a problem for our first group at Fel's Grove in Yarmouth.  Saltine, Grace, Leo, Mudbug, Roxy & Hank were all happy to get out today, and despite the chilly weather were ready to go for a swim.  Saltine, Roxy & Leo were the first ones into the brook, and they played tug of war with some sticks in and out of the water.  Grace & Hank stood on the side until they decided to join into the fray.  Mudbug was a bit tentative, and barked on the shore while the others played in the water.  The other dogs didn't share his concern for the water, and he ultimately tried it out, getting his feet wet and splashing around a bit.  We only saw a few other dogs today running with their owners, and these pups couldn't have been more welcoming.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon, and got in a lot of running and swimming, despite the mediocre weather on this great Thursday at Kanine Kings.

To close out this busy Wednesday at Kanine Kings, we took a trip to Fel's Grove in Yarmouth with a trio of great dogs.   Phoebe, Kaia & Macey had a lot of energy to work off today and ran after one another deep into the grove and then down the trails into the woods. We were lucky to manage avoiding any rain for our walk, and this crew managed to keep dry otherwise. We did see a few other dogs out getting some exercise and these three were happy to greet the other visitors. Everyone got in a lot of playtime and this crew was on their best behavior for the afternoon, to close out another busy Wednesday at Kanine Kings.

Fluffy Flurry in Falmouth

Next up for this busy Wednesday was a trip to Falmouth for a walk with four great dogs. Casco, Lola, Emma & Remy were excited to get out and run in the woods.  All of these dogs have hair rather than fur, and are all similar puffballs. This group got along great, and everyone welcomed Casco to their group, chasing him and then letting him chase them all over the woods. We didn't see any other people out in the woods, and we managed to avoid getting rained on. Everyone was on their best behavior for the trip, and some of then managed to get a bit wet after falling in a puddle, then deciding to wrestle in it.  We dried everyone off before we headed for home to spend the afternoon relaxing and drying off.

Ginger's Great Find

Wednesday's forecast called for a few showers and some clouds, but that didn't slow down the dogs of Kanine Kings. Ginger, Riley & Finn were ready to get out and run as soon as we arrived at the preserve in Scarborough. After a bit of running, Ginger broke off from the pack, into the woods. When she returned, she had discovered some sort of animal bone, and Riley & Finn were very interested.  They chased Ginger all over the preserve, but she never gave up her new find for the duration of our visit. These three had the preserve all to themselves for the day and managed to avoid any raindrops. Everyone was on their best behavior for the afternoon and we all had a great time to start out this busy Wednesday at Kanine Kings.

Making New Friends at Fort Williams

Next up for this busy Tuesday was a trip to Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth with a trio of great dogs.  Godiva, Finn & Riley love to explore the dog area at Fort Williams and Finn made a few new friends along the way.  He met a puppy that was about his age and roughly twice his size, but that didn't stop him from going full speed and playing keep away with the stick his buddy had found.  Riley would check in from time to time to make sure Finn was okay, but he mostly explored the outskirts of the park, chasing birds into the woods.  Godiva was happy to spend some time with the other dogs, and then visited with all of the owners in hopes of getting a treat or two.  These three got along great with all of the other dogs out enjoying the day and were on their best behavior for the afternoon.  We got in a lot of exercise, and everyone had a great time, before it was time to head for home to relax for the afternoon and enjoy some lunch.  It was a great group of dogs to spend this much less rainy day than yesterday at Kanine Kings.

Playful Pair at the Preserve

The rain let up on Tuesday a bit, and made for a great day to visit the preserve in Scarborough with a pair of high energy pups.  Lola & Ginger were off to a fast start right out of the parking lot and into the woods.  They took turns chasing one another and playing keep away with various sticks up and down the trail and into the woods.  When Lola saw the pond, she went straight for it, while Ginger did a bit of exploring on her own.  Upon her return, these two were back to playing all over the fields and rolling in the mud down the trails.  We didn't see any other people or pups out today, and these two made the most of their day, exploring every corner of the park.  These two were on their best behavior for the afternoon, before it was time to head for home to spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying a few treats.

Rainy Stroll With Max

Next up for this rainy, busy Monday at Kanine Kings was a trip downtown with Max.  Max was napping when I arrived, but quickly got excited for our trip outside.  We tried to avoid the puddles and get a nice long trip around downtown Portland, finding as much shelter as we could along the way.  Despite the rainy weather, Max had a few visitors who wanted to stop by and say hello.  We didn't see too many other dogs out in this weather, which was fine with Max.  We got in a nice long walk before heading home to curl up on the couch for an afternoon nap in his warm apartment.

Introducing: Teddy!

Our rainy day fun continued with a trip to Fort Williams with a trio of great dogs.  Remy & Godiva were joined by our newest King, Teddy.  Teddy & Remy were fast friends and took turns chasing one another all over the park.  Godiva made a few runs around the fields with these two before she ventured off to explore.  Teddy & Remy found a few sticks and took turns chasing one another and alternating playing keep away from one another.  We saw another dog or two our with their owners, but they were quickly ready to head home.  We spent some time exploring the fort and this group didn't let the weather dissuade them from having a great day.  Everyone was on their best behavior for the trip and got in a lot of exercise.   We had a blast despite the rain with this great trio.

Monday Fun with Bennie & Georgie

The forecast called for rain on Monday, but that didn't stop our busy day to start the week at Kanine Kings.  To start the day we went for a stroll with Bennie & Georgie in Baxter Woods in Portland.  The rain wasn't too heavy and these two were ready to get out and about.  We got to the woods and made a few loops around the trails, letting the trees shelter us a bit from the rain.  We didn't see too many others out in this weather, but that didn't stop these two from having a great walk.  We got in some exercise, and these two were ready for a treat before heading to their dry area and settling in for an afternoon nap.
