It was a beautiful May day for a nice leisurely walk around the preserve next to the Nonesuch River in Scarborough. Luke, Lola and Ginger were well behaved and took full advantage to explore the park today. Ginger and Lola lead the way while we were on the trail and enjoyed running after each other. Luke joined in the fun before we finished exploring the woods and arrived at one of the ponds on the property. Lola wasn't shy at all about taking a little swim to cool off. Ginger splashed around with her and got a little wet too but Luke wasn't tempted by the water. To close out our walk today these 3 ran themselves in circles through the grass to dry off and tire themselves out before returning home for the afternoon.
Last but not least for this busy Tuesday was a trip to Yarmouth for a stroll with a half dozen great pups at Fel's Grove. Champ, Henry, Phoebe, Ruby, Nala & Saltine were happy to get in a lot of running and playtime in the sunshine. We saw a few other pups out enjoying the day, but this group was happy to hang out together and didn't pay much mind to the others. Saltine and Phoebe made a point to roll in the mud a bit, and needed a bit of cleaning before we headed for home. These six pups all got along great, this being Champs first walk with the group, they were happy to welcome him and he made some new friends. These six were on their best behavior for the afternoon and we all had a great day on this beautiful sunny afternoon at Kanine Kings.
Next up for this busy Tuesday at Kanine Kings was a trip to Falmouth for a walk with the boys. Casco, Tucker, Riley & Finn were happy to get out today and explore the woods and get in a good run. Riley and Finn were quick to get down the trail, with Tucker & Casco following closely behind. Finn & Casco were fast friends and took turns rolling one another down the path and then chasing each other through the woods. Riley found some water to splash around in, and Finn went in right behind him as the others stood on and watched. The weather was perfect and these four made the most of it, getting in lots of playtime and exercise. We had the woods we were exploring all to ourselves, and this group was on their best behavior for another great excursion at Kanine Kings.
The weather on Tuesday looked perfect from the start and we were ready to go with a trip to Fort Williams with a trio of great dogs. Saltine, Navy & Godiva were happy to get to the park and make a few new friends in the field when we arrived. Saltine took another dogs ball and played some chase. Navy quickly joined in while Godiva explored the areas all around the park. We made a nice big loop around the dog area and visited with all of the others out enjoying this beautiful weather. We met with lots of other pups out with their owners and everyone was on their best behavior, making as many friends as possible. The weather was perfect and we had some great dogs out today to enjoy this beautiful day.
Next up the for this sunny Monday at Kanine Kings was a trip to Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth with a group of five great pups. Navy, Lola, Remy, Emma & Saltine were ready to run the fields and explore some trails along the ocean side. They chased each other all over the field and then took off down a trail toward the ocean. At one point they were out of sight and were headed to the beach, before I called them back. They met a few other families out enjoying the weather with their dogs, and this group couldn't have been more well behaved. We all got in a lot of exercise and everyone had a great afternoon. The weather was a bit chilly, but the views couldn't have been nicer on this busy Monday at Kanine Kings.
Monday called for some chilly weather, but sunshine to start out the week, and it was a great day to start on the waterfront on LittleJohn Island. Roxy, Grace, Saltine & Emma were ready to go for a run on the preserve and they were off when we arrived in the parking lot. They quickly took off down the road toward the waterfront. They made a point to roll around in some mud before we got to the beach. Saltine and Roxy were the first into the ocean when we got to the point, and Grace and Emma quickly followed. They splashed around for a bit before we were on our way back down the trail and back to the car. We had the preserve all to ourselves for the day and all the dogs were on their best behavior for the afternoon. It was a great way to start out another great week at Kanine Kings.
The weather on Saturday called for a perfect spring weekend, and we made a special trip to LittleJohn to take a stroll on the water. Phoebe & Emma were ready to go for a run today and quickly headed down the trail. These two are both high energy Poodles and love to chase each other all over the preserve. The weather was perfect and there were quite a few people out enjoying the day, and these two made a point to say hello. We saw another dog out on the point, and they played for a bit with him before we moved on down the trail. The tide was out today, so there was no swimming, but these two managed to get a bit muddy running on the beach. We got in a nice long stroll on this beautiful Saturday, making for a great way to head into the weekend at Kanine Kings.
To close out another great week at Kanine Kings, we made a trip to Quarry Run in Portland with four great dogs. We managed to avoid the rain for this visit, and his group was happy to get out and make some new pals. Lola, Maggie, Kiwi & Tucker were all fast friends and were happy to meet the other dogs that were out visiting the park today. They chased each other all over the park and into the woods. They explored up the top of the hill and met with the other pups that were hanging out up there. Everyone got in a lot of running and exercise, and we managed to stay dry for our visit today. These dogs were all on their best behavior for the afternoon, and we all had a blast before heading home for the weekend to relax. It was a great way to close out another great week at Kanine Kings.
Friday called for some rain, but we managed to start out the day avoiding getting wet for out trip to Pratt's Brook in Yarmouth. Our latest addition, Kiwi, joined Phoebe, Riley & Finn for a stroll through the woods and a bit of splashing around in the brook. These three welcomed Kiwi immediately, and they took turns chasing one another around the field and to the trials. Riley & Phoebe made a point to splash around in any water they came across, while Riley explored the woods near the trial. Kiwi was a bit skeptical about the water, but was happy to chase the other pups when they came back to land. We saw a few other dogs out getting in some exercise before the rain came, and this group was on their best behavior for the day. Everyone got in a lot of exercise and had a blast running in the woods at Pratt's Brook. Everyone had dried off by the time we got back to the car, and they were happy to head for home to relax for the afternoon.
I had a very scenic and pleasant walk this afternoon with 5 great dogs. Riley, Finn, Maggie, Ruby and Nala made a couple of friends when we reached the field today to play with and chase around for a few minutes. Next up we made our way to the trail for a little hike through the woods. Nala lead most of the way while the rest ran and played through the trees. We stopped for a quick dip in the brook and gave Finn a chance to get in a little swim practice. The water rejuvenated them and gave them plenty of energy to finish our hike and return to the field to dry off in the open air and sunshine. Maggie, Ruby and Finn chased and played a little longer before we got back to the parking lot and then eventually home to relax.
Last but not least for this busy Thursday was a trip to LittleJohn preserve for a walk along the water with Champ. He approached the shore, but was a bit reluctant to get his feet wet and preferred to explore the nearby woods. He chased a few chipmunks and squirrels up some trees, and managed to overlook a snake we came across on the path. Champ had a lot of energy and we got in a lot of running around the preserve for the afternoon. We had the place all to ourselves, and it was a great day to enjoy the beautiful weather as we took in the beautiful scenery. Champ had a lot of fun and was on his best behavior for the afternoon before it was time to head for home in time to greet their owners upon their arrival. Champ made for a great way to close out another busy day at Kanine Kings.
Next up for this busy Thursday at Kanine Kings was a trip to Yarmouth for a stroll at Fel's Grove with four Golden Retrievers and a Poodle. Grace, Phoebe, Henry, Bo & Roxy were excited to get out on this beautiful spring day and play in the sunshine. Bo was a welcomed addition to the group, and made fast friends with Roxy. Henry & Phoebe wrestled each other down the trials, while Grace did her best to find some spare tennis balls lying around the fields. Despite the beautiful weather, we had the grove all to ourselves, and this group made the most of it. They got in a lot of running and exercise before it was time to head for home for the afternoon to relax. This group had a lot of fun on this beautiful spring day at Kanine Kings.
